Accountability & Transparency
How Union County tracks, audits, and reports every SPLOST dollar.
How SPLOST Funds Are Managed
Separate Accounts
SPLOST funds are deposited into dedicated accounts, separate from the county's general fund, as required by Georgia law.
Annual Audits
Independent financial audits verify that all SPLOST expenditures align with voter-approved project categories.
Public Records
All SPLOST financial records are maintained and available for public review at the Union County Commissioner's Office.
Defined Duration
SPLOST collections last for a defined period — typically 72 months — per the intergovernmental agreement. Renewal requires a new voter referendum.
